If the two fighters make a private agreement to weigh no more than 155 at the weigh in that's fine with me. If no world title is at stake then any type of catchweight both fighters agree to is fine with me.
      Tally: 3 No

      Thanks.

When I have a problem with it, is when fighters use it to get an unfair advantage or just to be ****s. Canelo is one of my favorite fighters but making the 155 catchweight fights was BS. Cotto making Martinez fight at 159 for the MW title was BS. Mayweather complaining about Pacquiao making catchweights only to turn around and make Canelo fight him at 152 was BS. There are probably other examples of BS catchweights.
I see. You seem to be in between lol. You agree to catchweight fights only if it's a meeting point for 2 fighters belonging to separate weight divisions but against it if a fighter utilises it as an advantage in major fights… should I tally you up as a yes(they are ok with you) or a no(you are against catch weights in any major fight)? I apologize if I'm too ****** to sum up a clear answer on my own Thanks for the post

Only if it's 70/30 split my way, blood testing between rounds, your family and friends can't attend, on Shotime and no representation of your country in any way shape or form, that includes your national anthem. Oh, and you must join my promotional company and agree to no water between rounds

Once you agree to my simple requests the fight is on!

          I vote NO, .

Catchweights for the most part just give fighters an unfair advantage. And in a title fight that should be a . There's very rare cases where a catchweight benefits both fighters equally.

Catch-weights should only be allowed in NON-TITLED fights. There is a reason for the weight-classes and it shouldn't be circumvented for the purpose of compromising an opponent. Which brings me to a much larger issue\problem.

            The issue of same-day weigh-ins.

Even more egregious than stipulating a weight that would compromise opponents, is the farce of making weight 24-hours before a fight and then ballooning up twenty pounds to fight at a weight class well above the contractually agreed weight.

Boxing is in desperate need of regulation .... As much as I love boxing, it is an unregulated, corrupt sport managed by baboons.
What difference would a same day weigh-in make? The same guys would still be fighting each other, just in a different weight class. Instead of a Terence Crawford vs. Ray Beltran fight being at Lightweight it'd be at Welterweight. The only thing it'd change is the name of the division.

When Floyd fought Maidana the 2nd time around he defended his 154 title while fighting at 147. Can we consider that a catch weight too?

                It does make a difference!!!!!

What I'm stating is that (For example) WW fights be fought at the WW limit -- No more of this shit where guys weigh in @147 and fight @170lbs

Good question, I would think so. Horrible defense though...

I don't like catchweights, but if it gets good fights made then I'm okay with it. To me if you want to be middleweight champion you should be willing to fight at 160. So I'm against catchweights, but accept them along with all the other crap in boxing.

Catchweights are as old as boxing it self. I have no problem if they are being used for a champion in a lower division fighting a champion in a higher division, it's what the likes of Armstrong, Leonard and so on have done.

But a catchweight between two champs in the same division? No.

You're question is vague, you should have fleshed it out a bit more.
