I like the idea of a fight on the 4th of July, sounds great I would BBQ and invite friends and family over and light up the fireworks and the end of the night. That would be great fight night. It's not like the 4th of July lands on a Saturday all the time, it wouldn't hurt to try it.

Cuz its true. Too much going on that time year. Its no coincidence boxing gets its best numbers in the spring n fall. People are going to be out in droves people are going to be travelling in droves. People don't stay home and order fights. Therefore horrible time for fights.

Floyd claims he is a proud American so why not fight on fourth of July independence day weekend one of the biggest weekends when it comes to families staying home to have bbq parties with friends and family or to go out to the movies.

One would think this would generate more PPV buys for Floyd. 2015 fourth of july lands on a Saturday so it would be perfect for an American boxing star to fight on that day.

Cinco de Mayo isn't even a big holiday in the country of Mexico. The 16th of September holds a bigger meaning.

The reason people are fighting over this date is simply for economic reasons. Latinos make up a large % boxing PPV purchasers. This audience of latino's always expect to see and buy a big boxing fight in May.
For this reason and this reason only are guys like Canelo trying to take this date back. The rest is just bull crap.
