Mauricio Herrara "EL MASTRO" should be fighter of the year!

But instead, he got robbed two times in really big fights.

He would definitely be FOTY: Taking Garcia's "0" and taking the "0" of a hot, up and coming blue-chip prospect. And then beating a very tough Johan Perez for WBA interim title.

    Ridiculous ...

I don't know, Herrara's win over Garcia is better than Crawford's win over Gamboa.

Then Benavidez, and Perez are better than Burns, and Beltran... Or it's close.

But the fact Crawford was a favorte in al those fights, whereas Herrara was underdog in two of them - well bookies had him evens for Benavidez - but he was huge 'dog against Garcia.

Yeah, Max Kellerman made this point as well and I completely agree.

He had a helluva year. Earned a lot of peoples respect this year. Al Bernstein said he's a top fighter at 140. That's how much respect he has in the game. Despite what the judges did to him on paper.

Thanks for the responses my good lads!

Everyone at least recognizes he's the real lineal champ at 140.

Both the Garcia, and Benavidez fights Maestro won at least 8 rounds. I don't see either of them closer than 116-112 for Maestro.
