They kiss Haymon's ass because of Floyd. Once Floyd is gone, watch how less likely Haymon is going to be pulling mismatches for a lot of money.

Adonis Stevenson was able to fend off a late rally from Andrzej Fonfara to retain his World light heavyweight championship on May 24 in Canada. What the 36-year old southpaw failed to retain, however, was the level of viewership that helped him rise from cult favorite to box office attraction. The aforementioned light heavyweight championship managed to generate an average 672,000 viewers – according to Nielsen Media Research - over the course of their 12-round main event, which aired live on SHOWTIME. The bout topped out at 800,000 viewers, a respectable number on its own but paling in comparison to the past numbers produced by the defending champion.

The critics will say Adonis Stevenson fought a nobody, a bum. And perhaps they’re right. But Dmitry Sukhotsky lasted almost five full rounds — longer than former world champion Chad Dawson. Give him credit for that.

Gotta respect Kovalev, he took 500K vs. Hopkins while Hopkins took home $1M, and I'm fairly certain Pascal is making more for their upcoming fight. I doubt it would have come together so quickly if Pascal's monetary demands were not fulfilled.

there's only so much money out there. stevenson made 1.5 million but he fought a bum who fought for pennies. kovalev and hopkins had a purse of 1.5 that they split. haymon found out that if you fight bums you can get your fighter and yourself more money. also it helps when you are in cahoots with the guy running a major network(espinzosa) soon they will be gone though but until then we just have to laugh and cry

Cause kov was the b side when he fought hopkins. Stev was the overwhelming a side in his fight. Check how much stevenson's b side made for their fight? im sure not close to 500k. Or how much bernard made for kovalev fight. Probably more than 2 mill. Also, kovalev i think owed his promoter some money. So he took less money than he should've for the bernard fight.

I wouldn't say consistently, but thats probably nitpicking, i see your point

Id argue his TV ratings are quite impressive for 2013, 2014 reflected with dire opponents and bad press deservedly

Yet.... Fonfara 2 in the works, with those figures you posted above? Just over half fewer than before, and a rematch nobody really wants or needs to see... its an opponent choice thats even awful behind the scenes

The first fight was surprisingly competitive, though it might just be leverage for negotiations with Hopkins.

WELL BECAUSE haymon has showtime by the balls, they either bow down and pay what he asks or showtime doesnt have a boxing program.

1 is with Al Haymon the other is not! Al Haymon undercard Fighters make more than main event guys with other promotions? WTF did Chaves get for the Bradley fight? $35K? REALLY? While Abner Mares got $250k for a "STAY ACTIVE FIGHT"

Not sure how the 2 Dumb and Dumber posters drag "RACE" into this...WTF?

Also seems like Stevenson draws a decent crowd in Canada when he fights as well. People Blame Haymon for everything but it is actually Yvon Michel who has more say than Haymon because he is the Promoter for Stevenson. So go complain to Michel: https://twitter.com/yvonmichelgym
                      he replies to Tweets lol
