    Better Fight: Hagler/Hearns or Hagler/Minter?

First, to recap a few obvious points.

    Both fights go 3 rounds.

Yes, Hagler/Hearns ends with a KO and Hagler/Minter ends with a doctor stoppage.

    But, Hagler/Minter also resulted in a bottle-throwing semi-brawl, unlike Hagler/Hearns.

I also realize that Hagler/Hearns is probably the more significant bout in terms of boxing history, but Hagler/Minter is the fight when Marvelous Marvin became the undisputed MW champ.

I'm not interested in historical significance; I'm interested in which contest was the better fight.

So, in the opinion of you, the knowledgeable boxing fan, which fight was better: Hagler/Hearns or Hagler/Minter and why?

I regard Hagler-Hearns as one off the best and most important fights off it's time,

Hagler and Thomas Hearns met in what was billed as The War.This fight is widely regarded as one of the most brutal and thrilling boxing matches of all time. Hearns, who was expected to box and take advantage of his superior reach, stood toe to toe with Hagler from early in the first round. The pair fought at a ferocious pace with the crowd giving a standing ovation as the bell sounded to end the 1st round. Hagler who was pressing for such an exchange was happy to fight on the inside, both fighters landed hurtful punches but Hagler appeared to have the advantage with his more solid chin (ability to absorb an excellent punch). Hagler, despite a cut to the head managed to overpower Hearns in the third round, scoring a decisive knockout.

2 off the greatest going at it u can't beat tht,

the Marvelous one was the best 4 sur

lol you dont wanna count the historical factor but you include the ****** factor in hagler getting pelted with beer bottles by a bunch of angry dudes rather it was a racial factor or not it was ignorant and shouldnt hold any merrit ...

watching hagler cut through minter was far less exciteing then watching him cut down tommy.....remember this is a tommy hearns comming off a huge huge huuuge 2nd round ko win over duran so im sure you could cut the tension with a blade you have hearns appearing as if hes comming back up hill in stardom and you got a hagler whos been slipping a little here and there setting into his old age

brilliant war with a brilliant ending no historical factor included
