tarver, was a no-name that needed (and deserved and earned) his shot..i ain't mad..he did what he was supposed to do...

jones vs. tarver, darius, nunn, liles, benn, eubank, lol, or anybody he was accused of ducking...would never at any time, generate the type of media attention or $ that floyd vs. manny would...manny is as much an a-lister as floyd, and those guys matched up as perfect as ali & frazier

jones, getting criticized for avoiding fights, and floyd, getting ridiculed the way he has for so many years about his arch rival in ppls minds, is two different things sorry man...

so if you know your history...

what if roy jones, avoided james toney when both were at their absolute peak in talent and fan interest when that was the mega fight? said crap like toney has a boss, and he still has tiberi problems..roy would have gotten hogtied in the media and everywhere he went...that fight happened when it was supposed to happen...right now...your boy is getting hogtied in the media...sugar ray leonard, at least admitted, that hagler was a beast that he had to wait lose a step...

your boy, would have been better off saying, that pacquaio, is too dangerous right now i gotta wait til the time is right, as opposed to all the excuses over the years...

So because you found this site before me that makes you more knowledgeable? **** you're dumber than I thought. That fight was over ten years ago, who da **** would remember what was on the undercard, seriously? I can look it up easily, but that's not the point. You're so ****in ****** you think remembering a fight from twelve years ago makes you a better fan.

The fact that he fought him while it still mattered is the key.

Not only that, an obviously shot version of him still won.

The only reason Tarver didn't fight Roy sooner is because he lost his shot when he lost to Eric Harding.

            Get your facts straight.

If you call making over-seas fighters have to come to the US to face the P4P #1 fighter before he goes over there and possibly gets robbed, then Roy was a ducker.

definitely a difference between a fan of boxing, great fights, and a str8 fanboy..

roy, as long as he has legit wins on atg's on his resume, can talk smack about floyd, because he can...

hagler, srl, holy, duran, the easton assassin, iron mike, even the greatest...have all called floyd on the carpet, because they can...lol

...and a blind fanboy will say, they are jealous of floyd...

no wonder boxing is as popular as hopscotch these days....

I joined 4 years before you Blanco, that means YDKSAB and I do... The perfect theory that pretty much depicts the mentality of 90 percent of the posters on the site.

Actually Tarver knocked out Harding and was inline for the title shot and Roy moved up to heavyweight. Tarver had earned the title shot before and Roy pretty much said it's between you and Harding for my belt. Harding beat Tarver the first time and got the shot, Tarver then beat Harding and Roy moved up. I don't call that a duck but by today's standards it seems like a duck. And that's sad
