Considering he's almost definitely going to be retired by this point, it's kind of dumb. Should have gone 4 man if you actually want Mayweather to fight the winner.

I hope Arum lets his only top fighter at those weightclasses (Bradley) participate...cause you know no in-house money and his superawesome future match-ups for him with Alvarado-Rios winner or a Marquez rematch would fall in the water. Maybe we would get Bradley - Khan in this tournament and yes of course dozens of other great mouthwatering matchups.

And what does that mean for Canelo? Cause he is the only fighter in the world (in his mind) that is too big for 154 but also too small for 160.

We need details..is Brook allowed to participate as the IBF titleholder? What about champions moving up in one of those divisions ? (we talk about Garcia for 147)
Hope we get some soon...but for boxing this kind of stuff sounds too good and too good things in boxing barely happen...

They also should do this for the 122 division so Rigo finally can get some decent matchups and show all those paperchamps who the real man is (even though they all know it)

I remember when BHop won the middleweight tournament and thought in doing so would force Roy Jones to face him in a long-awaited rematch...

          ...tournament means nothing.

Ward fought Kessler. The favorite to win the tournament. He was also the Vegas betting favorite over Ward in the fight.

Make May and Pac (@147) #1 and #2... then #3-#8.. with hopes Money and Pac meet at the end.. and forcing both to fight legitimate contenders..

Floydies will love this.. their idol doesn't have to fight anyone ranked in the top 8.. cause they have "foney" tourney obligations..
Humor me. WTF is a "Floydie" ?

Is it like saying "ladies" but with Floyd's name? Or maybe "groupies"?

I'm trying to make some sense of it.

Have no problem with that! Getting to the Level of Pacquiao and Mayweather is a ***IN PROCESS! Fighters want a straight line to the top without earning anything now, let them fight each other, lets see who is the Best of the Up and Coming Guys. Not only will it help create the Next Stars in Boxing but it leaves no doubt who is truly the BEST

The problem will be the DIVA Fighters, Promoters and Managers in Boxing who will either try to manipulate things OR won't allow their fighters to be involved with the Tournaments

But you have think about it this way...the top guys in 2 divisions are facing each other and for once in a zhousand years (this is how it feels as a boxing fan) we get to see a "real" champion again in 2 divisions.

Also on Mayweathers part...if he keeps his 0 in 2015 there would be the symbolic 50th fight...50-0 and that against a guy that would be considered "the" top guy after/with Mayweather...there would be so much freaking money on the table for May and if he can keep his form till 2016 this really could be possible...if not then not, doesnt matter then cause we would have the new undisputed champ @ 147!
