He said this time that he wants to face Kovalev so I don't think so. He wasn't that vocal about Kovalev whan he moved the direction of Showtime and Haymon but now he said that he wants the fight so after this I don't think that he vacates and move down.

Yeah right, i have more faith in Floyd and Pac fighting than i do in Stevenson getting in the ring with Kovalev.

I like that the WBC is doing this now, and I hope they continue to do so.

At worst, it takes the belt from someone who doesn't want to defend it. At best, we get a very good fight out of it. Either way it's a good thing.

Very glad the WBC is puitting their money where their mouth is given the discussions with the IBF and WBA this year about making unified titlists.

I was hoping they would do this as soon as the Kovalev - Pascal fight was announced. Hopefully Adonis takes the opportunity to fight Kovalev this time, and FWIW I don't see it likely that he vacates.

Given his age vacating would all but kill his chances of any more decent paydays - even losing to Kovalev would at least get hin a 50/50 split, whereas vacating might well spell the end of his career.
