Oh brother, what a useless comparison.
Kovalev wasnt fighting in a showcase fight. And he was trying to get the KO in the last round.

Thurman before the fight "One time, thats what they call me and what I give fans... knockouts baby"
After fight "Well you never know what you gonna get with Keith Thurman, you know I like to show different sides to my game baby"



The critics were excessive but with great hype comes great responsability, especially against 40 year old showcase opponents. People were expecting him to make a statement. He showed he can win using boxing skills, not what people were expecting. However Kovalev did make a statement, so again the comparison is terrible.

kovalev wasn't dancing around hopkins like thurman was around bundu. kovalev was hurting hopkins and pressing the action all night he was close to stop b-hop a few times. besides the KD, thurman was happy doing just enough to win rounds
