People are so caught up in these ****** fan wars they don't understand that boxing did very well saturday. And no, HBO didn't win. Showtime has normally never competed thst closely in the past. They did very well.

I watched the hbo card because i cancelled my showtime subscription. I'll pick it back up if they actually put on more shows. I love bernstein and malinaggi, there's even something about ranallo that makes the fights fun but they haven't put on too many good matches this year. I still have a sour taste in my mouth about the pathetic garcia-salsa bout.

Bradley/Chaves peaked at 1.1 vs Khan/Alexander peaking at 887k. Considering the names SHO stacked on the card vs HBO and the supposed star power of Khan, I'd say HBO is still a few rungs above SHO. I personally don't give 2 ****s what network is best as long as good fights are on but I did watch HBO live mainly due to second nature. Also, seeing Lee claim the belt Quillen gave up was satisfying.

I just can't deal with Showtimes al Haymon nonsense anymore, in the past 26 fights a al Haymon fighter has fought on Showtime, they won every one of them.

It's completely pointless.

I can legitimately make a case that almost every al Haymon fighter that fought on Showtime actually took a step back in competition this year. That's crazy...

HBO and SHOWTIME have done a great job of staying out of each other’s way for the most part during the 2014 boxing season, and for good reason. Historically, the two networks wind up eating into the other’s audience when presenting dueling boxing broadcasts, which is never good for the sport.

A down year for the sport as a whole ended with a ****, however, as fans tuned in on December 13, with both networks providing live broadcast barely a mile apart in Las Vegas. The overall numbers provided better news for SHOWTIME.
