Mexican Stand off Hosted by Oscar

It seems that Odlh , has the boxing world on temperary lock down. Seeing how we have 4 of the biggest superstars in boxing w expected dates for possible show downs in May. Clearly this is bad for all parties in every way. Cotto Canelo deserve full attention for ratings from fans , like wise Mayw Pacq. This would cause both fights to not reach maximum potential of ratings. Like wise, this poses a huge problem for Roach Pacq and Cotto, being they from the same gym. Both of these fighters deserve total attention from Roach for these massive fights. Aswell , Roach can not be at two seperate venues at the same time on two different networks. On the negotiation side for both fights. This makes meeting demands, date and venue hard to meet, which causes a stand still of the negotiations. Also remember January is just about here. So there's a time restraint for adequate training time for all fighter. Seems there a huge obstacles in the way of finalizing these fights , that need to be addressed ASAP. I personally look forward to both fights if they actually get signed! So I'd hate to have to pick and choose which one to watch.....Thoughts???

I don't think there's anything to be concerned with because I like most don't think the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight will ever come into fruition. Thus, Canelo/Cotto would have this date to themselves.

Yes I agree. But assuming that fight does get made in some miraculous way. Then what?

Than Mayweather and his disease of divaism would have to pick another date.

I understand why HBO and Bob are making ODH and Canelo force the issue like this. From their perspective, having Canelo/cotto from Vegas on May 2nd maximizes the revenue for that fight. The Floyd/manny fight is going to sell whenever it happens (unless super bowl sunday or NCAA final four). ODH needs the May 2nd date to maximize his earnings. So since he has the most to lose, ODH really has to make this fight on this date.

Better be careful ODH, because Cotto can always fight Floyd-which doesn't hurt arum because he has Vargas/Manny in China already to go.

I wonder if Canelo leaves GBP if ODH fails to make the cotto fight on May 2nd?

Canelo already made it clear he isn't backing off on this date and the likely hood of a Canelo/Cotto scrap seems alot more feasible than a Floyd / Manny fight. Not unless your half brain a s s still believes in Easter bunny indicating otherwise.

Not only that but Mayw loves to stack the deck w some sort of Mexican revilary to boost rating way up. But w Oscar Canelo Cotto I would think that most Latino fighters would prefer to be on that card. And if so how mayw Pacq would have to reach pretty far to put together a enticing card.

for the last time, showtime and hbo have never had ppv fights on the same night. and they never will.

arum and Schaefer have both said in the past that in the event of two networks both wanting too do a ppv on the same night. the ppv industry has the say in which fight goes on that night.

so you wont have too choose. one fight will be in may and the other will be in april or june
