Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Definitely Don't Think Mayweather Fights Khan

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport has serious doubts about Floyd Mayweather's willingness to face Amir Khan on May 2nd of next year.

Hearn sat ringside on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and watched Khan dominate former two-division world champion Devon Alexander over twelve rounds.

Even prior to Khan's impressive performance with Alexander, Hearn had his doubts about Khan's ability to land Mayweather. Hearn is among the many who view Khan as a stylistic threat to Mayweather's undefeated 47-0 record.

The whole world knows Floyd chooses his opponents.

I'm being kind today not to use the word "cherrypick".

Would you put your money in a business who has 50% chances of going bankrupt? Boxing is a business and you have to be wise. After the Marquez Ko, Pacquiao had to go to China to make a living... His stock dropped and he is no longer the attraction he once was. Mayweather is still undeafeated and making millions... Losing to Khan would kill him.. Losing to Pacquiao would result in a richer re-match! Thats why he will go after Pacquiao!

Khan is high risk, low reward

Pac is high risk, high reward

losing to Pac i think Floyd can live with it

losing to Khan, he'll off himself

I agree that this is the smart thing to do for Mayweather. Avoid Khan till the very end, fight Pac win / lose rematch and then retire. Smart business.

Kinda shocking to hear Hearn say he thinks Khan will beat Floyd. Hearn has been jealous of, and a hater of Khan for a long time.

Pacquaio did not have to go to China. His best Pay per View numbers this year was against Bradley and that was in Vegas. That was also the biggest confirmed ppv of the year of any fighter including Mayweather. Mayweathers ppv numbers haven't been confirmed.

Pacquiao would easily beat Mayweather due to sheer work rate and ring generalship, Pacquiao would knock khan to the moon, Khan even knows this which is why he even says Mayweather is the easier opponent. Mayweather can't beat either of them so he may as well fight Pacquiao because he is desperate and is costing showtime a lot of money. Arum should demand at leat a 60/40 split or no fight. Pacquiao is worth more than that just off of comparing ppv numbers of pacquiao and Floyd. Floyd has done about 20 percent more on average so he only deserves 55/45. If he wants to be a whiner let him steal an extra 5 percent from Pacqiao. Any more than that and he should go kick rocks because he is going to get brodied for his cinco de alvarez date, and lose his ppv crown by fighting some bum because I highly doubt he will fight Khan. Pacquiao can reclaim the ppv crown next year and Mayweather will be on his knees begging Pacquiao for a fight. Pacquiao could fight terrance Crawford in june and then mikey Garcia in November after he gets a fight at lww under his belt. Those are both million+ mega fights and Pacman will reclaim the crown. We all know Floyd won't risk his zero loss against a real threat, so who could he fight to bring in that number? Maybe just maybe Danny Garcia but you realy think Haymon would risk his next cash cow zero record? Haymon is ruining the sport of boxing and the careers of his own fighters. Stevenson, Quillen, and now Garcia are the laughing stock of boxing due to Haymon, and Mayweather too but his delusional fans just won't see the truth if it hit them smack in the face
