Looks like a lot of people need to rewatch Lomachenko vs. Ramirez. Not a lot happened other than the body shot that knocked down Ramirez and the body shot that stopped him.

Mares beat the s**t out of Ramirez for every second of the fight.

When it comes down to it Lomachenko is more of a counterpuncher, and head to head the way Mares fought Ramirez would play into the strengths of Lomachenko.

Mares is capable of switching things up though, so I think a Mares vs. Lomachenko fight could be more interesting than people seem to expect.
and vs salido too. loma too cautious for first few fights.

          I agree with your post.

I just think when a top fighter like Lomachenko or Mares fight a lesser fighter like Ramirez they should beat them from pillar to post and show that they're a class above. Lomachenko and Mares both got the job done, but I like the fashion in which Mares did it more.

              Lomachenko by far.

              1. It was Loma's pro debut

              2. Ramirez had a full training camp for Loma not just 5 weeks like he had vs Mares.

              3. Ramirez was an active fighter a coming off a good win over Ray Bautista against Lomachenko, against Mares he was coming off a loss and a 14 month lay-off.

Everything mentioned by people that voted for Lomachenko has nothing to do with his performance, but everything to do with variables outside of the ring, .

                Lomachenko ruined Ramirez doe.

Mares is looking like a pretty shot brawler to me lately.

I think he 's fighting a division too high. Johnny Gonzalez, Walters, and Loma are significantly bigger men who could fight at 130. Mares is pushing it. If he fights LSC i'll be surprised if LSC isn't bigger.

That's what sucks about boxers that challenge themselves, they reach a point where it is too much while drainers stay at their weight to catch them.

You could argue Ramirez not having a full training gave Mares a better probability at a better in-ring performance.

you know as they say, fights are won in the gym.
