Floyd said that? I don't remember. I thought he said that about Dawson back in 2008, then again to promote his fighter he said it about J'Leon Love recently. I don't doubt Floyd said that about Alexander, looking out for his fellow African American peers, but can you provide an article where he said that? Can't find it.

He's just a very knowledgeable/historian fan with a voice. But he is a fan after all, he gets excited about young fighters like the rest of the voiceless fans. Just like respected posters here say outrageous things like Pac-Rios will be a good fight, GGG would beat Hagler and Robinson, Donaire has a HOF resume, Cotto is a HOF'er (After his Foreman win). He's just like one of us, only he has a voice

I no longer knock him for what he says. He's a fan too.

          Yup.

Junior welterweight Devon Alexander has arrived. This past Saturday, the boxing world took notice as Alexander made quite a debut on HBO. He boxed his way to a eight round knockout of Juan Urango to unify the WBC and IBF titles. Urango had never been stopped in any of previous fights, and that includes taking hard punches in recent fights with Randall Bailey and Andre Berto. Prior to the Alexander loss, Urango had only been down once, against a pure puncher like Bailey, and he still managed to get up and win by knockout.

Alexander sure doesn't seem like a top pound-for-pound boxer.

Even before anyone said it, I put him up there at the time too lol. I think it was when he KO urango that I declare how he would go on to beat Pac and others... Boy how wrong was I.

So many people got way too gassed over that win.

To the extent Alexander's fan still mentions it today!

                    Bradley vs Alexander

                    "the modern hagler-hearns"

                    HBO actually said that.

                      Yes, Max Kellerman said that.

Kellerman seems to have an infatuation with young, well-muscled African-American boxers. When he used to talk about Alexander, he reminded me of a teen-aged girl with a crush.
