Does anyone feel Thurman will actually be a disappointment when he steps up?

I like what I see, and how he is positive and wants to fight big names, but I seriously feel once he tastes real speed and power, he may shut down and fail. Chaves showed that he doesn't like to get hit, but that's understandable.

I have always said, it's easy to look good VS lower tier guys. How do you do vs top guys.

Charlo, Spence and Thurman are good ones to watch for sure.

He was already overrated but now I think he's being underrated following last night. About the only thing he didn't do is KO Bundu and you're just not going to to be able to do that to everybody.

Thurman showed some good skills last night. He fights so similarly to Roy Jones that I wonder if that style is specific to Florida. I would like to see his chin tested some more but he's definitely a top fighter at 147. He needs a Khan or Maidana to really tell us where he's at.

That said I feel like he'll disappoint, but for reasons semi-related to tonight. There's levels to this and knocking out some nobodies doesn't impress me. He took somewhat of a step up tonight and was getting all sorts of problems from a well seasoned and schooled guy. If he has to fight someone like Maidana I just don't see it happening for him. :idunno:

I agree with this, Charlo (the one who beat Rosado) may be the best of the lot but Thurman is in the best division and he will struggle, he gets b eat up by Brook imo, possibly out hustled by Porter, he has a shot at beating Devon, a punchers chance against Khan, he probably loses to Maidana and gets hammered into early retirement by Pacquiao. mayweather would beat him comfortably too. Bradley v Thurman could be very entertaining though.
