Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Now I Know Why Floyd Don't Want Khan!

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is now convinced that WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs) was avoiding a possible showdown with British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) - because Khan has very fast hands, accurate combinations and technical advantages.

On Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Khan dominated former two-division world champion Devon Alexander over twelve rounds of action.

De La Hoya is going to make a big push for a Mayweather-Khan collision in the first half of 2015.

I'm just wondering how much blow Oscar was on when he made that statement. Khan pity pat game is for amateur's. Floyd schools this boy like he did Cindanelo. ...... Its one thing to beat a a c level guy and it's another to beat the sport P4P king. ......

Khan looked great last night, but let's not get carried away. Fighting either Floyd or Pac he'll have to deal with punches actually coming back at him. Plus both fighters know how to adjust their game in the ring unlike Alexander. We've seen time and time again that Alexander falls into that same pattern and does nothing different the entire fight. Go look at his previous fights and you'll see him grunting, throwing the same three punches. I'd like to see Khan vs. Thurman or Brook before I'm ready to demand a fight against Pac or Floyd.

Khan looked sensational but a bit mentally tired over the 2nd half. I would hve preferred to see him go against Thurman or Brook first to show he has overcome a destructive puncher. Oscar just selling the fight.

Khan looked very good last night, but I'm not convinced he is in the top 3 just yet. I think Khan should go ahead and challenge Brook for a title, or get his revenge on Danny Garcia @ 147. Khan vs. Garcia would do nice @ Barclay's. One thing for sure, Khan looked better than Bradley last night, and against a better opponent too!

MayweathTurd now officially has two superior fighters in his own division that he is afraid to fight. How can a fighter call himself P4P when he's a Bronze at his own weight just like he was a Bronze at the Olympics and a tin foil of a human being?
