Comments Thread For: Jose Pedraza Comes on Board With Al Haymon

BoxingScene.com has been advised that super featherweight contender Jose Pedraza (19-0, 12KOs) of Puerto Rico has signed on with powerful manager/adviser Al Haymon.

Pedraza, one of the rising stars of the lightweight division, is in line for a shot at IBF super featherweight Rances Barthelemy of Cuba. Pedraza won an IBF title eliminator last month with a dominating decision win over Michael Farenas. Pedraza previously held the IBO's title at 130-pounds.

By bigger and better fights, do you mean the Rod Salka's of the world?

I don't see this as a good move. He is getting into a huge stable and that leads to waste. Pedraza is not getting the pamper route, like Vazquez got "beat". Signing with Haymon only guarantees a lot of company. Unneeded competition for attention in the gym.
