  • Comments Thread For: Glen Johnson: I'm Looking For Another World Title

Glen Johnson (54-19-2, 37 KOs) has all the motivation he needs to beat Erik Skoglund (21-0, 11 KOs) on December 13 at the Albertslund MusikTeatret in Copenhagen. The legendary Jamaican boxer knows that victory over the rising Swedish star will put him back on the path to world glory.

“Erik is a strong opponent,’’ said Johnson. ‘’He is a very good boxer with great potential, but I’ve not travelled all the way to Denmark to lose!

I am a massive fan of the Road Warrior but WTF ? He has had shots at super middleweight, lightheavyweight and cruiserweight in recent times he has nothing to prove. Whats next chopping one arm and leg off to get to welterweight? I respect his great chin but come on this is brain damage waiting to happen his reflexes were completely gone against Bute and Froch and looked flat and dead against Fonfara, Groves and Makubu.

He needs to go back and watch the Makabu fight. Same thing past dozen fights (besides the Green win).... he usually gets starched, then comes back with very light punches just to show enough activity for the fight to continue... but hey that didn't work against Makabu... he was TKO'd. And if he keeps it up he'll be tipping his hat to telephone poles as Dad used to say. Geez man, give up already.

Glen Johnson is just hoping for another payday. He spent the majority of his career as a journeyman making chump change.

Who wins the Muhammed Ali Award for Boxing Brain Damage this year?
Glen Johnson? Jermain Taylor? Shannon Briggs? Roy Jones (a previous winner)? Victor Ortiz?

There might be a senior-citizens pie eating contest that he can win somewhere....

Glen is now a real journeyman traveling around the world getting beat up by up and coming fighters. I wish he would retire but maybe he needs the money.
