Arum tried to stifle Mayweather's true potential. That's why Floyd bought out his contract in the first place. Floyd had plans for big money fights with Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya, but Arum refused to offer him the cash he was looking for. From what I recall, Arum was only willing to give Floyd $10 million for those fights. Mayweather wanted bigger guarantees.

It doesn't, yet we all know Bob pulled the stitches scam and the countdown clock (when a deal to fight margs was already in place) so you have to ask why would he do it?

The answer (based on your asking what does make sense?) is Bob thought/thinks Pac will lose to Floyd so he avoids making the fight for years so he can make money that he otherwise might not have made had Floyd defeated Pac in 2009/2010.

Pac got KTFO by JMM, which has resulted in lower PPV sales, which takes money out of Bob's pocket (shows the fear about lost revenue once pac lost was accurate.) So now he is more willing to make the fight to makeup for whatever revenue his company lost since his last 3 ppv's have (reportedly) sold no more than Manny's best ppv's with cotto and ODH.

But that is just a guess, I could be wrong.
