Comments Thread For: Kovalev-Braehmer Would Likely Go To a Purse Bid

This past Saturday night in Germany, WBA 'regular' light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer (45-2, 33KOs) made a statement by scoring a knockout victory in less than a minute of the first round of usually durable Polish contender Pawel Glazewski.

The WBA's super champion at 175-pounds is Sergey Kovalev (26-0-1, 23KOs), who also holds the WBO and IBF titles.

Mark my words: Braehmer will never fight Kovalev. He knows Kovalev knocks his head off. And Sauerland prefers to let Braehmet fight further tomato cans.

Braehmer's going on 37 years old, this would be his big payday. I always hoped he was going to pan out at SMW back when Froch, Kessler, Bute were all young but he never stuck around that group and had various problems.

Brahmer is a second rate fighter who has never quite panned out. European level, but with a phony alphabet belt. Won't ever fight the elite, just stay in Germany fighting second tier opponents like Sven Ottke did.

Another good option for Kovalev. Pascal, Braehmer, and Mohammedi would put him in line for another Fighter of the Year nomination in 2015.

Braehmer will get a tummy ache like he did after signing to fight the mighty Shumenov. Kovalev would smoke him, which is why Sauerland will never let it happen and will continue having him beat up tomato cans

I read Braehmer has Visa issues which prevents him from travelling to the US.
