Bruce Lee was an actor, first and foremost, that much is clear. His history in martial arts - not so clear, not enough reliable info from that time. It was, however, clear that Lee was very proficient in various eastern fighting styles, his body type is not that of a boxer or wrestler but a very quick and agile fighter that relies mainly on coordination, timing, precision, and quick powerful kicks carrying incredible force/momentum. He is kinda like the Chinese version of Chuck Norris in a way.. regarding the "myth" mainly.

And for those of you knocking on these far-east fighting styles, please at least try watching some of it, do a little reasearch before making these blanket statements about it all being BS. Some of these styles require incredible amounts of coordination, athleticism, discipline, it is just unreal. I would highly recommend at least checking out some of the RedBull TKD events, there are some crazy things these "BS fighting syles" are capable of. Tae Kwon Do is no joke, just take a look at some of the KO reels, the whiplash can be MUCH worse from a spinning flip kick carrying insane momentum than any punch.

I have seen some CRAZY KO's from all kinds of fighting styles, even Capoiera!

tae kwon do fighters are real. THEY FIGHT/COMPETE.

their style is just disadvantageous in mma. buti've been dropped on my back by a tae kwon do kick. so it's no joke.

the issue isn't eastern martial arts.

full contact karate is effective. arnis/kali/eskrima is great stick/knifefighting. brazilian jiu-jitsu is japanese judo. so is russian sambo partially.

the issue is bruce lee is not a fighter. and most of his stories are fake.

I have heard disputed input to stories, such as who really won out of him and Wong Jack Man, who by the way is a legit Martial Arts teacher, or was.
