Jüergen Bräehmer took 43 seconds to beat Pawel Glazewski in Oldenburg, Germany, on Saturday night. The German veteran retained his WBA 'regular' light heavyweight title when the Polish challenger went down from a body shot and failed to get up.
Bräehmer’s stunning victory took his record to 45-2, including 33 knockouts. Glazewski’s dropped to 23-3, with five wins inside the distance. The champion, the WBA “regular” champion, was making the third defence of his title. The WBA’s “super” champion is Sergay Kovalov, who beat Bernard Hopkins for the IBF belt earlier this year and also holds the WBO light-heavyweight belt.
