Roach does get a lot of credit for doing a great job with one elite fighter. He has never built a good fighter from the ground up. All of his fighters who have done well, fell into his lap. Now if you look at other trainers like Robert Garcia, he made Brandon Rios and with the help of his dad, Mike Garcia world champions. So there are other trainers who have done more with less. Mayweather Sr. is no position to say anything anyway. Same thing applies to him. He's never built an a good fighter from the ground up. He trained Oscar and Floyd but they were established before they got to him and I still have the Ricky Hatton debacle in my mind.

Sr. can b!tch all he wants. But while Mayweather Sr. pretty much only trains his son, Roach trains other fighters as well. Other than Pac he can also be responsible for Cotto's big win over Martinez. While Mayweather Sr. can be credited with his son having 2 not very good looking wins over Maidana.
