The thing is more of an distinction rather then a comparison. The reason why Maidana gave Mayweather trouble are the reasons why Pac wont. Maidana is not better then Pac by any means but what gave Mayweather problems was awkwardness, big round house looping shots, constant bullying pressure and his weight on fight night, all of which Pac will not do. Pac throws mostly straight punches, off angles but still mostly straights, he doesnt pressure, he doesnt fight inside, he cant bully Mayweather, and Pac has trouble cutting off the ring. Pac will be the smaller and shorter man and his arms are short, which will be even shorter when he fights Mayweather, because Mayweather leans back as part of his defense. Pac wont be difficult for Mayweather to time, see marquez, even algieri had some success timing Pac. I think thats the point some people were trying to make, lol i give them the benefit of doubt.

i have to put money on pac.

      remember, fellas.

all of pac's losses came when pac was favored.

      bradley, morales, marquez, singsurat.

not sure if he was favored over torrecampo but probably.

pac's biggest wins he was the underdog.

      barrera, delahoya, ledwaba, sasakul....

      just saying.

Brandon Rios is also huge he used to drain himself to make 135 he walks around at 180s.

Pac, Floyd, and Marquez are small welters because even guys at lightweight and 140 are bigger than them and blow up in weight while those guys walk around at 147.
We are talking about fighting weights not walk around weight. If you wanna say that Algieri is bigger then Pac between fights thats cool, but we are talking about in the ring and in the ring Pac is and was the bigger man when they fought.

Mayweather is not a small Welterweight, he is 5'8, and is probably the prototype Welterweight. His upper body is wide and his arm length is long, he is also really strong as you can see he is almost never pushed around in the ring. Mayweather stays close to his fighting weight because he is the consummate boxer and remaining close to weight gives him an advantage when heading into training, which is also why Cotto is now doing the same. Marquez is not a small Welterweight, in fact he is not a Welterweight at all. I would say Pac is not a Welterweight either, but Pac defeated real Welterweights so he deserves to be called a top Welterweight.

Good points. I'm going to go with who Floyd and his dad thinks will win and that's PAC. Can't erase all those videos that point to them thinking PAC is too much for them.

pacquiao's strength is in applying pressure.

not the normal in your chest type pressure.

but action pressure. you have to constantly engage to back him off or he'll just win the round following you around.

pac doesn't cut off the ring so he gets criticized for not being able to finish/catch running opponents. BUT he wins those rounds easily.

floyd will have to engage pac to win. i don't think popshotting will work on pac. not to win 7 rounds.

                .
I know you know why he doesn't cut off the ring but others think he's incapable of doing so. It's by design so he can set up money shot, straight left down the pipe. He's trying to goad his opponents into position. If he wanted to cut the ring off he could.

Algiers couldn't make 144' and he came in weighing more than manny so how is manny the bigger man exactly?

Your assessment assumes Mayweather as an ordinary opponent. He does not have to engage Pac to win, If Pac cant land and Mayweather pot shots, he will win.

being favored is a disadvantage in this fight imo.

some of the UNJUST scoring against both MAY and PAC come from perception.

for PAC it was his power. if he wasn't hurting or dropping guys there's this perception with some judges and fans that he's not landing when he is. bradley 1 and marquez fights for example.

with floyd, it's in not being hit. if you just graze floyd ppl are in shock. that's why ppl think guys like delahoya, maidana and cotto won. in reality floyd won easily imo.

there's a good chance floyd might get robbed in this fight. if pac touches him enough perception might go against him.
