Promoter Artie Pelullo is road weary and jet-lagged after spending the past few weeks overseas. First he was in Macao, for the pay-per-view card between Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri and then last weekend in Russia for Ruslan Provodnikov's stay-busy affair against Jose Luis Castillo.

Now, as he looks ahead, he plans the future for Provodnikov, who has a rematch clause with Algieri. Algieri, out-pointed Provodnikov (24-3, 17KOs) on June 14th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

i would honestly be surprised if provo takes that rematch clause anytime soon hell why not have crawford and provo fight. I dont know provo and this guy basically said they cant put him in with "runners" aka people who use more then their head for defense so id be surprised if he fights algeiri again. I mean think about it he fights algeiri coming off such a bad loss to pac and he goes and out points provo again talk about career suicide. now if he wins the rematch thats a different story but thats a huge risk i doubt they will take and they will start using weight and him not having a belt as excuses not to fight him

honestly tho he didnt mention the guys who can actually get the fights made in for example crawford, an algeiri rematch, and hell throw in gamboa. I dont see provo as a ducking kind of fighter by any means but i do think his handlers are going to try and keep him away from boxers. Honestly tho him and crawford both want manny why not fight eachother the winner would obviously get manny 100% baring retirement or mayweather fights even with mayweather fights tho they still get the fight

That's actually fine with me if they keep him away from boxers. We already know he doesn't do well against them, and he's too far into his career to be reinvented as a slickster sporting tassles and moonwalking around the ring. The guy is a puncher.

So while it's obvious at this point Ruslan isn't going to reign at 140, he can still put on FOTY performances with anyone willing to trade with him. His streak of fights before Algieri was incredibly entertaining.
