IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch is growing more confident that a deal will be reached for a March showdown in Las Vegas in Las Vegas against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Froch has been out of action since a May knockout victory over George Groves before a crowd of 80,000 at Wembley.

Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom has revealed that there have been productive talks with Chavez's new adviser Al Haymon.

In a perfect world, Chavez Jr would have a tuneup fight beforehand, but the showdown makes a ton of sense, in my opinion. Still a good fight though.

        bill:
Froch vs Chavez Jr - super middleweights
-Anthony Dirrel(c) vs George Groves -168 [pending Sauerland approval]
        -Anthony Joshua's US debut
-Mickey Bey(c) vs Kevin Mitchell -135
-Callum Smith vs Rogelio "Porky" Medina -168

would max out a three-hour PPV (maybe going over a bit), but you end up with a show, heavily UK focused, but with enough domestic material to do okay in the US.
