Well the WBO hasn't mandated that fight yet, just saying the winner has to fight Saunders.

Unification could bypass... or the WBO will just do what they did with Pirog 2 years ago if Korobov goes in against GGG

Would this appease the haters out there? He'd beat a solid middleweight in Murray, pick up Quillens old strap, then beat up someone for the Lineal title..
Fighter of the year in 2015, Gennady Golovkin..book it..
          haters gonna hate.
The better he looks against better opposition, you'll just have d*ckholes coming out of the woodwork calling for him to "take the test", accusing him of inviting Memo Heredia to his camp.
No fighter is ever going to be universally admired

-Korobov-Lee winner has a mandatory defense due to Billy Joe Saunders (WBO #1 challenger).
-Cotto and Alvarez are both junior middleweights (Alvarez is a big junior middle, while Cotto is a small junior middle); it'd be a money fight, but whatever.

            Golovkin schedule (imo):
            February: vs Murray
June: vs Arthur Abhaham [non-title at 168]
September: vs Korobov/Lee/Saunders winner [WBO title]
December/January: vs WBC champion (to unify the division)

Golovkin takes another stay-busy fight (Murray), proves that he can compete with one of the smaller super middleweights (Abraham), picks up another middleweight championship (WBO), and then closes out the year with his first PPV [depending on what happens with Cotto/Alvarez and the WBC at 154, neither may stay at middleweight].

Either way, Golovkin closes out the year as IBO/WBA/WBO/WBC/lineal champion, with three HBO productions and a PPV performance under his belt (assuming he wins all four fights).

Golovkin, from 2016 onward, emerges as a PPV fighter in his own right, whether he fights Cotto/Alvarez or not

After Murray in February, it's already been announced that Golovkin will be back on HBO on May 16th - two weeks after Cotto/Alvarez live - one week after it re-airs on regular HBO. Right now it's looking strong that it'll be Hopkins in May at 170lbs.

I highly doubt that Alvarez fights Golovkin in September (assuming he beats Cotto resoundingly and there's no big money rematch between the two). His announcement that he wants the Cotto fight at 155lbs because he still wants to fight at 154, and prior announcement that he wants a 'couple' of fights at 160 prior to fighting Golovkin should tell you he has no intention of fighting Gennady in 2015.

Something to pay attention to is tommorrow's London press conference for the Golovkin-Murray fight. Depending on how the UK crowd takes to Golovkin and then what kind of Channel 5 tv ratings he draws, if it's really big, that should land him a lucrative Froch fight in the fall (Sept/Oct). In the meantime this gives Korobov a chance to fight Lee, Saunders, and probably Geale prior to facing Golovkin, making that a solid MW title fight.

              Feb-Murray
              May-Hopkins
              Sep-Froch
              Dec-Korobov

They really expecting him to go up and then back down and then probably back up again later on? That doesn't make sense.
