Comments Thread For: Khan-Alexander: Yoshihiro Kamegai To Make Return

Japanese welterweight puncher Yoshihiro Kamegai (24-2-1, 21KOs) will return on December 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be Kamegai's first fight since the twelve round decision loss to former champion Robert Guerrero on June 21 in Carson, California. Guerrero-Kamegai was a Fight of The Year candidate with action from bell to bell.

Kamegai will face Oscar Godoy (13-3, 6KOs) on the card. The event will be headlined by a welterweight battle of former champions between Amir Khan and Devon Alexander, which headlines a Showtime televised tripleheader.

I like Yoshihiro. I felt bad at that Guerrero fight man, Yoshihiro had this one Japanese fan that had the flag and was excited as heck at the fight. When that decision was announced that he lost you should of seen this guy humbly fold his flag with this sad look on his face, took off his fight shirt and proceeded to walk away disappointed. Made me feel bad. Kamegai won me over that night.

The Ghost might have broke his will that night. We'll see if he's the same guy.

I remember the fight, can't remember how close it was. Although I remember thinking Guerrero would have an easy time and go back to boxing. Instead Kamegai gave him a hell of a fight, those Japanese fighters are tough as nails.

This guy is a warrior! He should be facing top class opponents more often.

He!!uva fight it was. The kind that will probably prove to take a couple years off each of their lives. Kamegai the definition of true warrior. Will indeed be interesting to see both of their return fights.
