Their reputations are definitely hurt. People don't know who Peter Quillin is and even before he stopped fighting he had the reputation of an undercard fighter. Stevenson's legacy will forever be tarnished by the guys he could have fought if only he didn't let Kovalev get them first, and that might stay true even if he fights and beats Kovalev. I think Danny Garcia will be fine in the long run but this year made him look both overrated and a joke. He shouldn't have taken the Salka fight; it did more harm than help to his reputation.
I think of these three guys only Garcia has a good chance at regaining fans' respect. Quillin's best fight on the horizon is Danny Jacobs and let's be honest Jacobs isn't Golovkin or Martinez, not yet anyway. Stevenson needs Kovalev desperately now to have any sort of legacy when he retires.
