I think Al Haymon has something big in store for us over the next couple of years. (whether or not it pans out remains to be seen) I think that is the reason for all the TBA's and easy fights for his fighters.

But has the damage already been done? Are their reputations already damaged to the point of no recovery? These were guys with some major hype behind them at one point and now they are basically the laughing stock of boxing and the butt of many jokes.

Which other fighters reps has he tarnished in your opinion?

    Speak on it?
Their reputations are definitely hurt. People don't know who Peter Quillin is and even before he stopped fighting he had the reputation of an undercard fighter. Stevenson's legacy will forever be tarnished by the guys he could have fought if only he didn't let Kovalev get them first, and that might stay true even if he fights and beats Kovalev. I think Danny Garcia will be fine in the long run but this year made him look both overrated and a joke. He shouldn't have taken the Salka fight; it did more harm than help to his reputation.

I think of these three guys only Garcia has a good chance at regaining fans' respect. Quillin's best fight on the horizon is Danny Jacobs and let's be honest Jacobs isn't Golovkin or Martinez, not yet anyway. Stevenson needs Kovalev desperately now to have any sort of legacy when he retires.

Not sure why so many people believe Haymon has some great plan that's going to be great for boxing. Haymon has always been about making low risk fights with high paydays for his fighters, nothing he's done has led me to believe he's suddenly going to change that.

        I can see why.

Dude is saving his fighters so no L's until he hits up this NBC deal..... that's supposed to be out of his pocket.

Then he can put all his big matchups there and see how it goes.

I want to see if he does that or not... if he just puts up more Salka fights on there.... i don't see how anybody can defend him

Because most fans today, particularly the TBE fanboys, are fantasy dreamers. Many fights that are being discussed here are fantasy fights. They never happen, if you've noticed by now. They remained fantasy fights.

And most of these TBE fans' predictions never materialized, ie, GBP will be gone in no time Oscar knows nothing, Schaefer/Haymon/Mayweather will rule the sport and all that ****** nonsense. Did it happen? NO.

How can that be when these three clowns have been burning bridges left and right?

            Good assessment.

This site is infested with fantasy kids. Can't blame them, really.
That's all you can really do in this Haymon infested sport.

Yes everyone who is with Haymon for the most part is percieved as a coward.

                Garcia

But you got to remember boxing fans are a fickle bunch.
I disagree, boxing fans are scavengers. They take what they can get, always have and always will. We rarely get what we want, and usually have to wait for a lesser version of it when we finally do.

As far as the fighters, we see them recycled all the time. Guys who get destroyed come back and re-marketed off a string of wins. Gatti was written off after DelaHoya and then made a comeback with the Ward fights. James Toney, Holyfield, Wlad, it happens all the time with guys in this sport where they hit rock bottom and seem toast, find some success and people mostly forget the bad stuff and enjoy whats lately.
