Mayweather vs Maidana Was A Lot Closer

For some reason, people seem to think when Mayweather runs, he turns his fights into a shut-out. But when you put all of the highlights together, that couldn't be further from the truth.

the second fight wasnt that close but if you think so then cool, but floyd is definately aging and not as sharp as he once was tho. i also think people sleep on how good of a fighter maidana is with garcia in his corner

The first fight was a 7-5 either way type fight, or a draw. Ibthink I scored it a draw.

The second fight was a blow out, Mayweather dominated IMO. But it wasn't anything special the way he did it. Pitter patter, run, clinch. ZzZzZzZz.

He won the 2nd fight but looked like a hot pile of garbage. His reflexes are going, the 1st fight was hilarious; that one was very close or a draw.

No way this Mayweather beats this version of Pacquiao.

I like how the maker showed that Floyd did the same glove to the face that made Canelo hit Floyd low. Floyd claiming he got bit through a mouthpiece and gloves.. yeah right

Maidana did everything he intended to do going in but he fought too conservative to win enough rounds to get a decision. They were really counting on landing that straight right hand and they only managed to land one good one, Maidana should have reverted back to what he did in the first fight, at least he would have had more chances of landing big and possibly getting Mayweather out of there. Don't think that would have worked either but at least it would have gave him a bigger chance.

Doc Tenma what do you think was different in the strategy besides the pace? I wonder what Garcia planned for Maidana to do. I also wonder if that clean shot he landed early on in the fight would have put Mayweather down officially if he had Reyes, or MX gloves.... Mayweather has a solid chin, and his reflexes are still tops.

I do think that the first fight was very close but Mayweather did win convincingly in the second. I do agree though it wasn't the no rounds lost dominance many say. I think Maidana won at least 2 rounds, and you could argue for a third one easily. Maidana had more moments than most do with Floyd. I think even Mayweather knew the fight was still closer than he wanted it to be, and that's why in the post-interview he rated his win a C (I think it was a C...maybe he said B-???).

I thought Floyd won both fights. First 7-5 mayweather and second 10-2. Maidana just gassed out in the first and mayweather adjusted in the second.
