Victor looks agedDamn, the fighter that could have been...
Anyway I'm glad to see Mares staying active and taking on a decent fighter. Hope he gets back on track next year and either seeks a rematch with Gonzalez or moves back down to 122, where I personally believe Mares would perform his best at.

I would like to see both these guys bounce back in 2015, maybe Hoya can make some come back fights for both these guys.
I would like to see Ortiz fight Collazo in a rematch if he beats Collazo, maybe a fight with the Ghost would be interesting.
I would like to see Mares fight Gonzalez & Donaire next year.

i wonder if Ortiz has learnt to keep his chin at home when he throws?
Joel Diaz should help him somewhat, still old habits die hard. Will be interesting to see how he fights.

I see no other alternative way for Ortiz to rebuild himself as a live dog in the division without taking two or three tune up fights and then ultimately fighting a young, hungry, dangerous, and untested fighter like Thurman. It would be similar to how Maidana got through to Ortiz. If Ortiz manages to beat a Keith Thurman type of guy then give him the Floyd rematch.
