what??? didnt even hear about that, damn.

i dont think this is coming from stevenson, he wants the fights but haymon is all up in his mind, the same way he is with garcia. its ridiculous, haymon must realise he's losing money here. I dont get it he didnt get successful by accident, so what is going on?

is it something more official? the fact that haymon cant promote and he has no promoter to put up his bouts?

Basically what happened is that Pascal is Stevensons mandatory. They were negotiating and Pascal wanted 50/50, then 60/40 (in Stevensons favor) being that Pascal is the more popular fighter in Canada. Now, if they can't reach an agreement the fight goes to a purse bid, where the champion gets 70% of the purse no matter what, leaving Pascal with only 30%. Haymon stalled negotiations so that it would go to a purse bid, just so that Stevenson can get an extra 10%. Meanwhile, of course Kovalev is saying let's fight, you can have the bigger purse, and boom, it's done. Very similar to the Hopkins negotiations. Haymon just screwed over Stevenson again.

Kinda' like Floyd letting 147 shake out before coming in and cleaning up?

        Could be the strategy.

Howard the Duck still is a threat.

But it makes you think his management is cherry pickin'

I wouldn't say Stevenson is ducking anyone yet except maybe Kovalev. He's been posturing during every negotiation to get the most money possible with opponents I think he thinks has a decent chance to beat him. Kovalev is a special kind of fighter in a lot of ways but the best way is that he dares to be great so much by making a fight no matter what. Kovalev is taking less money to take away options from Stevenson while winning more belts and possibly forcing a mandatory... in doing so he's going to either force Stevenson to vacate, give Kovalev a great purse split and fight him, or leave Stevenson out to pasture being known as the duck lineal who beat nobody really. Stevenson could still beat Kovalev though but I ride with the Krusher.

Haymon has no respect for the die hard boxing fans and that will be his unraveling. He see's how Floyd can fight anyone and get paid and so he just assumes anyone can do it. He doesn't seem to understand that like all things in life, the early adopters (PS4/X1) influence what people end up buying. PS4 vs Xbox One is a great example and so is Xbox 360 vs PS3. The hardcore gamers bought the better systems (or what was perceived) to be better at launch. Their friends bought what they had due to word of mouth etc...

When Floyd was fighting guys like Castillo, Corrales, and really anything before 147 he had fans because he was fighting top notch guys and not losing. It was the hardcore fans who said Floyd is great you should watch him fight. Yes, it was the casuals who got Floyd the 2.4 million buys with Oscar but Floyd didn't just have that given to him. Haymon, by ignorning this alienates the hardcore fan from watching or rooting for Swift and Stevenson and all it's doing is killing these guys careers. If you don't get the hardcore fan to respect you the casual fan won't even hear of you.

How many divisions has Marquez cleaned out and been lineal? Hell Marquez ducked 140 with the likes of Amir Khan lol. If it weren't for Manny your buddy Juan would be irrelevant lol. Juan is waiting and hoping to cherry a welterweight title... maybe he'll win a bogus belt like an intercontinental and get elevated to bogus champ like that 140lb belt he was gifted.

oh well, stevenson loses out, kovalev gets to stake his claim as the best at 175 and we, the fans, win either way.
