Too bad it never happened & worst is the reason it never happened.. But I also believe Williams would have beaten Canelo & probably by KO...

Perhaps, but I just don't think Paul was that good and he was declining fast at that point. It sucks to say this now, but Paul was always pretty overrated, the guy couldn't block a straight left if his life depended on it.

Would've been a great fight, aside from getting KO'd by Martinez he had a great chin, great work rate, only got one gift (maybe 2 tops), and cared about his fanbase. He retired poor Winky and always gave people trouble. He is missed in the boxing world...

No you wouldn't have! Atlest not officially

I like Paul Williams, but lets be real, Canelo has gotten 3 fishy decisions on score cards..

          1. Trout - a few believe Trout did enough to win, he definitely out-landed Canelo by far.

          2. Lara - a few believe Lara easily beat Canelo, if not a draw.

          3. Mayweather - him drawing on a score card against Mayweather was terrible, I can find atlest 2 round to give to every Mayweather Opponent, but couldn't find a single round for Canelo.

Trust me..Canelo would have won by MAJORITY DECISION

Didn't Williams get one of the biggest gifts in recent times agains Lara though? How does that match up against fishy decisions? Not to mention many people felt he lost to Martinez and some even had Margarito beating him. Would have been some interesting cards for sure.

I made a thread about this a few months ago... and it would have been an action fight that pwill would have been a live dog in!! Its unfortunate it didnt happen.

It would've depended on how much he had left. I'm not sure if my timeline is correct, but wouldn't this fight have been after Lara whipped up Williams?

I would favor Williams based on what I saw in Canelo vs Trout.
