Comments Thread For: Paul Williams: I Would Have Beaten Canelo That Night!

Back in 2012, Paul Williams was scheduled to face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View on September 15th of that year at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. But then tragically, a few months before the fight, Williams was severely injured during a motorcycle accident and he was paralyzed from the waist down.

I don't see Floyd beating Williams. Horrible matchup for Floyd.

The last thing he said was pretty disturbing..

..but anyhow prime Paul Williams probably beats Floyd and Nelo.

Out of respect for Williams, I won't post anything negative.

It would have been a great fight.

It depends how much Williams had left after Sergio turned his lights out. He didn't look good in those 4 rounds against Cintron before that f@g jumped out the ring. And he got completely outclassed by Lara.

If Williams was at his best, I'd probably pick him to beat Canelo in a pretty close affair. Williams would always have success against flatfooted guys by outworking them.

I think he would have. Or at least deserved to and gotten screwed. We're talking a way different Saul Alvarez back then.
