The already infamous collision between 62-year-old Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke (6-0-2, 4 KOs), who boxed for a few years in the 90s, and his incapable opponent Elliot Seymour (1-9, 1 KO – both records don’t include the unofficial fight on Nov. 28) - gets more and more shady by the day.

When it seemed that it couldn’t be any worse than a 62-year-old fighting a 29-year-old, British paper Daily Mail spoke to sources who revealed that Seymour was in fact homeless, living on the streets for the last 18 months and desperate for money. Seymour has since gone on the record with American tabloid TMZ, confirming that he lives on the streets but denied taking a dive in the contest.

I don't see what the big deal is. Anyone with their head skroo-ed on correctly would know it was just an exhibition match. And so what if the opponent was/is homeless? Sounds like a good thing for the guy to make some needed bucks, maybe even get his life back in order. Plus Rourke got in shape for the match, something he needed to do anyway with his back issues. Saw over on espn the baby blimp himself Dan Rafael going off on this too. As if HE the food giant has any room to talk. This doesn't negatively effect boxing in any way, unless someone just wants to make an issue of it. Geez, no need for everyone to get their balls in an uproar.

It just completes the picture. A guy desperate for money took a dive. Too bad Ryabinsky is tarnishing his reputation with Rourke fighting on his card and with allowing Ruslan to fight Castillo. He had some quality shows before.

It took a lot of work finding this guy. Try walking skid row without any street cred. They have no comfy gyms, street is the gym. Ordinary KOs go unnoticed.
Mickey should train on skid row to get his technique right.
