the offer Manny got would be the biggest of his career. the counter offer was less than Floyd got for the Cotto fight, which is a smaller fight. Can you see the difference?

Now please answer this-if it isn't about money and manny agreed to everything Floyd asked, why was a counter offer necessary?Last edited by The Big Dunn; 12-02-2014, 09:23 AM.

This fight is exceptional so what floyd or manny would normally get isnt so relevant. Floyd isnt really in a position to 'offer' anything. The offer will come from both their paymasters i.e the network showing it, the take at the gate etc. Both parties know how much money is available here so the best and fairest thing to do is split it. No fair minded fan could possibly see it any other way.
Both fighters earning power is going to be reduced if they dont fight each other and because of the overwhelming public perception that floyd is indeed afraid to fight Manny, its likely to hit floyd's harder. The British public arent ****** either. Khan isnt as big a draw here as I'm hearing american posters who dont even live here try and tell us he is. Nobody here gives Khan a shot at beating Floyd and he isnt even that well liked so they arent likely to turn out in Hattonesque numbers to see it.

The amount of money of offer here is obscene and if floyd demand's a cent more than half then he is a disgrace. He needs to get on and get it done, he's been called out. Get on with it.
But it's a farce nowadays to put MONEY FIRST before a fight, sure it has become a pure PRIZEFIGHTING these days but the art and sport of pugilism is now second fiddle, which is sad.
