On this forum? I know plenty of boxing fans and we never discussed PPV buys. I know a lot of Mayweather fans lersonally. Never did they ever bring up his PPV buys. I never even knew what the #'s were until Icame here. But I did know when the fight(s) and fighters in then were good or not. Because that's what matters , at least to me.Comment

If you do a search and you can find where I ever said anything about a Floyd PPV flopping then your post has credibility. As far as I remember I always held a firm stance that arguing over whos PPV sells the most is ****ing ******ed. Especially if everyone paid for the fight and it ******! Which most of them (PPVs) do.Comment

There are two sides to this. The OP has a point in that a lot of fans, especially Floyd fans, seem to live vicariously through him. And to make it even worse, and more dangerous, they live in denial.
So it's like every thing that Floyd does, they think they do!
But for healthy, normal fans, it is good to know the PPV buys so we can have legitimate discussions when debating negotiations, and discussing the cultural, social significance of boxers - to give us a look at boxing outside of the hardcore realm.Comment

I've said once and I'll say it again you put manny on cinco de mayo or Mexican independence day he will hit 1million buys. Floyd having his fights on Mexican holidays and fighting Latin fighters on those holidays obviously he will crack high PPV numbers. Case in point at mannys peak he wouldn't fight on holidays and would crack close to a million buys. There are two sides to this. Your join date is Dec 2013 so I will give you the benefit of the doubt since you were not here.Unless you are concerned about their personal wealth which would make you a foolish, bafoon.
To try and talk down upon another fighter because his PPV sales arent up to par with another fighter. Rock on with that dumb ass logic. This is boxing, not a presidential vote.
Plenty of great selling PPV fights were duds. Trash! And the two boxers robbing you (us) of are hard earned money laughed all the way to the bank.
Think about that next time you wanna go full blown ****** on us.
PPV sales ceased being a discussion point on NSB once websites posted the actual numbers that showed floyd well ahead of ODH and Manny. Prior to that, Manny fans and non Floyd fans would create threads and post opinions without facts to back those opinions up at an alarming rate. They were the ones who made PPV sales an issue.
Soon as the facts proved all of them wrong then they switched to either one of 2 arguments-its the opponent and the undercard or PPV sales don't matter.Comment
