Four rounds in and Eubank's affectation severed me from my consciousness. I've never known a fighter bore me like this kid. I usually find myself fingering the buttons on my remote before channel hopping until his bout ends. For this one though I decided to stick with it. I didn't make it to the fifth before I was soundly asleep.

Bet in play odds at round 11 was 6/1 against jnr, and his corner nagging him for a knockout suggest it wasnt close, the verdicts were business decisions for a tematch. His fanboys n backers need to accept the hard facts that hes domestic class n not a puncher. Hes light years from being world class. Cleverly fight was closer saunderd 9-3 easy,Comment

Are you stevie wonder? - jr landed less than 20 punches clean, u clearly dont have a clueOf course not all the victories. What I'm saying is if ur an American fighter comin to the u.k than u better win convincing (knockout) . If anything at least give it a draw if they didn't wanna disappoint Saunders fans .. I saw Saunders taking a lot of uppercuts .. He didn't even work the body .Comment

Good post. Eubank leapt up several levels by taking that fight after the cans he'd been fighting, and he showed he definitely belongs at that level. But for the slow start, he would have won the fight - he was far stronger than BJS, hurt him a few times in the second half of the fight. Obviously he has a lot to learn, the kid is still raw, but as you say he has something about him. Saunders boxed well early, and started to gass a bit in the 7th, but he got his second wind with a strong 10th and nicked the fight.
An impressive win over someone like John Ryder, Sp1ke O'Sullivan or Nick Blackwell will put Jr back where he wants to be. The rematch would be huge in a year, a perfect fight for the 02.
As for Saunders, he needs to learn from the fight, improve his general fitness and get ready for the Lee-Korobov winner.
I don't necessarily agree with all the Eubank Snr criticism. I saw him give advice, impress upon Jr the need to get close and unload, and who better to take advice from than your dad, an ex-champion himself? Makes no sense to make Snr a scapecoat for Jr's slow start and defeat in general. He could've been more vocal early on, but from the 4th or so he was giving the right advice.Comment
