NSW rugby league captain Paul Gallen is out of hospital as he battles to be fit for his boxing bout with former Cronulla teammate Anthony Watts on Wednesday.
Gallen is scheduled to fight on the undercard of the Daniel Geale v Jarrod Fletcher fight at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion.
However his preparation was thrown into disarray when he reportedly contracted golden staph in his groin and underwent surgery in a Sydney private hospital on Friday in a bid to kill the infection.
