  • Comments Thread For: Canelo-Pacquiao? Oscar Says Alvarez Wants Manny

Appearing on KTLA in Los Angeles on Friday, Oscar De La Hoya discussed Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's future after a planned December bout with Joshua Clottey was scrapped due to Canelo suffering an ankle injury.

The Golden Boy Promotions boss said Alvarez will return in May 2015, and only wants the sport's marquee names.

Been talking about Canelo vs Pac for years on this site. Only to hear Pac is too small...GTFOH. They can all fight each other but Pac cant fight Canelo... Talk about super duck... Go ahead and keep justifying Algieri and the robot Rios.

Just don't see this happening. If Pacquaio moves up to 154, Canelo wins and people would say Pac was just too small.. If canelo drops at a catch weight of 150-152, they will also say he was drained and a shelf of himself if Pac wins..

As much as I'd love for them both to fight since they both are crowd pleasers, physically it just doesn't match up.

Pacquiao is talking about dropping down to 140 and you want him to fight Canelo. Okay.

This is absurd by the way. Canelo should be concentrated on fighting guys his own size.

I would give Pac 1000% credit for facing Canelo at 152. Forgetting winning, just facing him at that weight.

Styles make fights, and Manny will be taking unnecessary punishment at 152-154 against a guy like Canelo. Floyd can go up and not take punishment because of his style. Have to use context.

                  Manny/Floyd or gtfo.

That's quite a stretch from what Oscar actually said in that article.
