The ground work can be pretty exciting if you know what's happening, but I think the UFC cage creates too many situations where the guys are just pinning each other in a corner or one guy refuses to get up. It's supposed to be "as real as it gets" but I've never seen a street fight where one guy just lays on the ground in a corner staring at a giant timer.

Personally preferred the Pride ring where they would get moved back to the center and ground kicks were allowed.

Fedor's armbars had to make a lot of people want to learn sambo/jiu jitsu (including me)

        ah the good old days

            Canelo Alvarez
            Miguel Cotto

I'll say the same thing I said in 2009, both sports are star centric. Meaning they do well when they have big stars. Both sports will go through cycles of booms and down periods, but neither is going anywhere.

I think this is a good point. I remember when Jones in like his first year on top when through 4 top guys in a year I couldn't help but wonder what's next.

I think the majority of people I've heard say this didn't know anything about boxing to begin with; only what ESPN told them (who don't know boxing). That and many just repeated the same rhetoric they heard others say.

Yea he killed all credible opponents in like one year....then after that he stuck fighting people with no names......THen with them always having their top guys fight each other so often...its easy for a guy to stack up losses and fall off...

Its like you have to balance out building a fighter(boxing) and letting the best kill each other( UFC)

Now look thier biggest fighter is a fcking girl...lmao
