Comments Thread For: Wlad Returns, Kovalev Arrives, Ward Exits: P4P Update

With now a full year of inactivity and no imminent return planned, Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward, previously second in these ratings, exits. That makes room for at least one new entrant.

This time around, we have two.

For those who made the case for year’s that US failures at the Olympics were merely a style issue, the evidence is in. That’s not what happened. While US interest and participation in the sport has diminished, the rest of the world has developed the talent.

Ummm you might want to make sure the ratings page is actually updated before posting this.

Ward absolutely needs to be removed from the list. I don't know of a fighter more undeserving of the top 5 honors over the last 3 years. You can't just hold a top 5 ranking because of what you did in 2011. Since 2011, he's fought some no-name bum called Edwin Rodriguez, who will get knocked out within 5 rounds if he ever steps in the ring with Kovalev, Stevenson or Pascal and whose best win is over a former kick-boxer who is currently riding a 4 fight losing streak. Prior to that he defeated Chad Dawson, at the time the win was great but since then Dawson has been in a free fall. Getting KOed by Stevenson and suffering a very embarrassing defeat at the hands of Tommy Karpency.

I like "The Cobra" at eight.

Ward needs to get back to work.

            No Wlad?

Roman Gonzales does not deserve #2 p4p status.

Ummm, yeah, it appears that you need to update the ratings page. Ward is still there in #3, no Wlad etc.

He has dominated in multiple weight classes and his skills are about as well rounded as you can get outside of a Floyd Mayweather. The biggest superfight out there for him is against a fellow top ten P4Per who he already beat.

What more do you want him to do?
