Comments Thread For: Photos: Provodnikov, Castillo, Mickey Rourke Workouts

They are only days away from their showdown at the Luzhniki Arena in Moscow, Russia. In the main event, a battle for former champions as former WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan “The Siberian Rocky” Provodnikov (23-3, 16 KOs) takes on former WBC lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo (66-12-1, 57 KOs). The two boxers took part in open workouts. Also present for the media, 62-year-old actor Mickey Rourke (6-0-2, 4 KOs) will return to the ring for the first time since the 90s, and takes on unknown middleweight Elliot Seymour (1-9, 1 KO), 29-years-old.

Castillo vs Mickey Rourke. That fight makes sense.. Provo should avoid this, call in sick. How would he feel if somebody beat his daddy? This is not a good look for Ruslan. Granny ****er.

Lol, I was going to say something similar! That's just the result of plastic surgery. You just don't age gracefully with plastic surgery. You have to give this 62 year old man credit for the level of fitness he has achieved though.

Beside the side show, I will take my hat off to Castillo if he is still standing after 4 rounds. This fight highlights what is wrong with boxing. There is no exceptable excuse for other champions not fighting Provodnikov.

Um, you do realize Bradley and Rios declined to fight him, right? His team also reached out to Judah and Mosley before having to resort to Castillo.

This will be decent scrap contrary to popular opinion. Castillo will pull a Morales and make it a memorable fight. Provo is good but he is not at the level where it is a given he will dominate someone.

There's no need to feel this way. All of the top fighters out there have avoided Ruslan for one reason or another. This was a last resort fight. Trust me, this is absolutely not Providnokov's doing. Beside this, he has a team that decides his fights, not himself.

Surely they didn't ask a guy to come out of retirement?

Absolute b.s. fight...Maybe Provodnikov is gonna fight Mickey Rourke next...smfh.

Ruslan called out Judah, Castillo and Mosely-all 3 are retired from boxing (well, Judah may as well be).

I don't give a damn if Bum Bum Rios turned down a fight....they could have looked for a more legit opponent. This is trash.
