Marco Antonio Barrera vs Scott Harrison??

Scott Harrison could be MAB next opponent if he defends his WBO Featherweight Title successfully* against Víctor Polo.

"We've already made contact with Barrera's promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, and we've let them know were available and would love to make the fight out in Vegas. I've made a commitment to Scott that I will try my utmost to make him a superfight in 2005."
    Frank Malony, Scott Harrisons Manager

"Make no doubt, this is a topic that has been talked about for a while, and Scott Harrison is on our radar screen. I do see that fight happening somewhere in the near future,As you know, the big names are what draw the big crowds, and Scott Harrison is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in the United States. If he continues and the momentum keeps flowing, then there's no telling what could happen."
Raul Jaimes, who is part of Barrera’s promotional team

Do you think this fight will happen?

If it does happen it will be a great fight?

    It should be interesting.

It pits Barrera's skill against Harrison's brute strength.

Scott Harrioson is just a brute, he does not deserve to be in the same sentace as MAB. Harrison has done nothing his whole career other than beat washup up and second rate opponents. Another example of how frank warren gets one of his fighters a WBO belt and matches them against nobodies (See Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Jonny Nelson, Steve Collins)!! The fighty won't happen.

i'm not saying that they are frauds, only that Frank Warren will do the same thing he always does with his fighters! I am a huge Naz fan and Joe Calzaghe fan that is why i am so frustrated at the way Warren conducts his business! These are two examples of wasted talent (especially naz). Harrison, however does not have much talent and will fail when he steps up a level.

Steve Collins was a world class fighter cant you remember the Eubank and benn fights.

Every fight fan wanted to see a unification fight at super-middleweight between Steve and Roy Jones jnr but he would never fight him.
              Steve Collins:
I travelled to Pensacola to see Roy Jones fight and I actually climbed into the ring after his fight. I accused him of avoiding me and I challenged him live on national TV. At the post-fight conference I spoke to Jones and the press, I called him a coward and a yellow dog and I offered to fight him, winners take all. I would have beaten Roy Jones and he knew it! He said he would never fight me.

Not all british fighters avoid people and fight nobodies.

I don`t think this fight will happen. Barrera has nothing to gain in fighting Harrison, only if the fight were in Scotland then they could juice Barrera`s paycheck a bit but what is there to gain. Harrison is a strong, durable featherweight. I have no doubt though Barrera would school him for 12 rds and get the dec! However, only Harrison gains from this fight, if i were Golden boy promotions, i`d go after another fight. Harrison doesn`t offer anything worth while for a fighter in the league of Barerra!

That's about spot on mate. The fight they should keep trying for is Chi, that would be a very winnable fight for Harrison but Barrera, Marquez & Pacquiao would all beat him pretty handily imo.

I'd like to see him against Pac, it could be pretty interesting style-wise while it lasted.
