If a Floyd/Pac fight happens there is no need to build a new Stadium. They will simply jack up the price of the regular tickets and they will make just as much money. They will kill it at the gate and break a record.

People have been giving me a hard time, mainly beater_of_ass, cuz i told him that an outdoor stadium isnt completely imaginary and that more people =more gate revenue etc etc etc...

Can fights be held in temporary stadiums? Yes. Should be the biggest fight of all time be held in a temporary venue? No.

MGM holds 16-18k. You are saying make it a temporary because it makes more money than 16k... then make in Dallas. The money they make off of concessions alone with put to shame whatever a temp venue in Vegas can bring. You expect this temporary piece of **** to have a victoria's secret and 5 star restaurants like Jerry World?

Vegas can just add the money to build the stadium to the site fee to host the fight. It's going to come down to MGM or Dallas and that's it. They can make more from the gate and concessions with 100k people going or an insanely high fee from Vegas that even Jerry can't match. If someone went to Floyd and told him there are a making a circus tent just for Floyd. It's a good thing your or Dirk aren't controlling negotiations they would be over faster than when Floyd offered Manny 40 mil.

Sam Boyd Stadium where the UNLV football team plays. It holds 36,800 with temporary seats added holds 40,000.

Only problem is it's a little far off the strip. The whole point of holding a fight in a casino parking lot is to keep the gamblers on the casino property so they can gamble before and after the fight. If you send the gamblers half an hour off the strip to see the fight they probably aren't coming back to spend money at your casino afterwards, who knows where they'll end up and that site fee you gave to the promoters won't be worth ****.

Is Sam Boyd Stadium near the Sam's Town Casino? I usually drive there from the strip for their six dollar buffet. It's a great deal and a good buffet if you're staying on the strip and have a car and are willing to drive away from the action and excitement.

It would suck to have the fight in Vegas if everybody has to go all the way out to the boonies just to see the fight, and then figure a way back to the strip for the after parties. May as well have it in Dallas if that's the case.

You could put up an outdoor stadium in a matter of weeks. All it is is collapsible bleachers, a ring and floor seats. They aren't pouring fuc*in' concrete and s*it. It's a temporary seating facility that can be put up and broken down in weeks.

Some of the biggest fights in the history of the sport have taken place in ****in' casino parking lots via temporary stadium. Fights like these have all been staged at various hotel properties like Caesars, Riviera, The Dunes and The Hilton. Holmes-Cooney took place outside at Caesars in Vegas, in the parking lot, it had 30,000 people in attendance so stop talking about how it hasn't ever been done, shouldn't be done or does't need to be done. The only people saying that are Fl*m*s coming up with excuses not to have a fight. Ali-Holmes took place in the parking lot there as well, they built a temporary stadium that held 25,000, here's the article from a Nevada paper on the fight and the temporary stadium:

You want a stadium that holds at least 30,000 so that you could get a ticket that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If this ever went down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena tickets would never even go on sale to the public.

Stop trying to say there's no reason to build a temporary outdoor stadium. There is a reason, it's called money. It's been done plenty of times before, no reason they can't do it again.

Otherwise, us sitting here proposing where it could go, how it's been done in the past, etc, etc. just brings us back to the exact same point in the conversation we were in when Arum brought this up years ago.

Hard evidence is a fair request. However, chances are the cynics are probably comprised of the demographic who didn't need a shred of evidence to conclude and determine with absolute certainty that Pacquiao was juicing

Floyd is fighting at the MGM Grand and no where else. Any talk of putting Mayweather/Pacquaio in a stadium is nonsense. Any talk of hosting it anywhere except Las Vegas is nonsense.

If this fight takes place, it will bring in $1 to $2 billion and maybe more in revenue to the city of Las Vegas during fight week alone. If necessary, several of the casinos would join together to offer a ridiculous site fee to make sure the fight is held in Las Vegas because every one of them would make more money in that one week than they usually do in six months.

If the fight happens at all, it will take place in Las Vegas.

1 to 2 billion? That's a difference of about one billion. I'm not saying Vegas won't make a killing if the fight is on the strip, but that's quite a ball park figure you've estimated there. How exactly did you come up with a billion dollar difference in your estimate?
