Comments Thread For: Hernandez Injury Pushes Back Afolabi Bout To 2015

IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez has suffered an injury to his elbow and withdrew from the upcoming mandatory title defense against Ola Afolabi, scheduled for December 6 in Oldenburg, Germany. The card will still go forward with WBA light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer defending his title against Polish contender Pawel Glazewski. Sauerland Event is looking to push back Hernandez-Afolabi to the first quarter of 2015.

Yaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnn. So that'll be a 2nd year running that he only fights once. :durr1: I'm done with this guy. He looked great against Cunningham, but that was almost 3 years ago - against Arslan he fought like dogshit, and robbed him.

Robbed him? Every time the underdog does better than expected - but not enough to win - and doesn't get the decision, people call it a robbery. Hernandez clearly won a close fight.

I'm aware of that, and I agree in most cases. But upon first viewing (I guess I'd need to watch it again, although it was a terrible fight) I genuinely thought Arslan whooped his ass in the latter two thirds and did more than enough to get the win.

i was edging ofalabi in this, he could actualy outjab hernandez and out smother him aswell, although would he get a decision in germany, he'd have to win clearly.
