The main thing he should focus on first is getting a new trainer, that's for sure.

to be honest any top tier 147 fighter should ko chris .
that list of top 147s isn't very long nowadays

a lot of the people making fun of the algieri fight wanted pacquaio to fight thurman, who has an even more mediocre resume than algieri

140 is currently the more dangerous division imo and he already beat a top 140

Poor guy, doesn't have the balls to be a fighter, some guts yes, he had to try and save face, but he didn't want to be taking any punches. The guy found himself way out of his depth and looked like a scared little boy from round 1.

I like the guy but his body language and everything about him during that fight made me pity him.

          Weight problem?

Chris you have a team and identity problem. Especially at jr welter you have height and reach advantages. Fight tall use your reach use your movement study greats with same skill sets learn traps combos your lack of power is a problem create off the jab tighten defense you will be a pro never a great or even a very good fighter. Cash out on Provo rematch

I think the future is brighter...don't know about these naysayers. First and foremost, if I am Algieri, I would hire a legitimate Boxing Trainer. He's got some notoriety perhaps fight a couple of "lesser" fighters and improve from there.

            Maybe a rematch with Provodnikov...I don't know.

              Think you're exaggerating a bit.

He did look frustrated and neutralized against Pacquaio but this is the same guy who outboxed "most feared" (at the time, after seriously hurting Bradley and Alvarado) Provodnikov with 1 eye.

He just had nothing to answer Pacquaio's speed with and rushed to the big show wayyy too fast due to the the division drying up.

Yeah. He just needs proper training from a proper coach and he'll be back in action in no time. I say he should fight Bradley.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. He should try to get a fight with Broner and if/when he heats him, then he should move up to Danny. I think he easily beats Broner and I wouldn't be shocked if he beats Garcia.

                    Poor mans oscar

Chris oscar never had much of a right but threw it had combos defense and a stronger left then you. You are his dimensions as a jr welter hire a real trainer a defensive one as even steward couldn't help you you have no pop. Be a very very poor mans Oscar and win like Oscar did even though he got robbed against Tito. Land and get out. You have better stamina its your only chance to make a few paydays greatness is not in your cards

Algieri can box and has a good chin and he proved that already. If he can hire the crazy Roach, there is a good chance he can clean up the Jr. WW division. With his boxing skills and reach advantage, he can definitely dominate. Pac is just all wrong for Algieri but against Garcia, LP and the two Brits, I'll pick Chris with a good trainer to outpoint those Haymon boys.
