Comments Thread For: Algieri on The Fence Regarding Future Weight Class

This past Saturday night in Macau, Chris Algieri (20-1, 8KOs) suffered his first career defeat at the hands of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Algieri was dropped six times and lost a very wide twelve round decision.

Algieri, who held the WBO title at 140-pounds, was moving up and met Pacquiao at a catch-weight of 144-pounds. Algieri had some issues at last Friday's weighin and had to step on the scale three times before officially make the contract weight.

He should move up to 147 and chase a Mayweather fight. I truly believe he can outclass and outbox Floyd. Pacquiao was just too much for him.

He should fight Danny and Broner @ 140. I think he has a good shot at beating them both

Regardless of what Chris thinks, the power was a problem, and it was a problem early in the fight.

Algieri can do good at both weights against slow flat footed fighters. Hire a new trainer and use his size like Wlad against smaller fighters and box against slow footed fighters

I wanna see him fight Broner or Danny
