    Irish lightweight Katie Taylor has won her fifth straight title in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Jeju, South Korea.

    Olympic champion Taylor secured gold with an unanimous decision, while England’s Lisa Whiteside and Sandy Ryan both claimed silver medals.

    Taylor defeated Azerbaijan’s Yana Allekseevana in the 60kg final with scores of 40-36, 39-37, 39-37 to equal India superstar Mary Kom’s haul of five world crowns.

        Boxingscene, no news report on Claressa Shields' win in Jeju tho? No disrespect to Taylor, but Claressa represents our country! Girl got an Olympic gold medal at 17 years of age, now she has a women's world championship at 19 (and she was the "boxer for the event")!
