I have always been an individual that believes that the boxers in the past where stronger, tougher and had more heart than today's boxers. I firmly believe that if Dempsey where to have fought Louis or Klitchko he would have knocked them out. Was Louis more skilled, Yes. As powerful, No! I do believe though that Louis would put up a he'll of a fight against Klitchko but Klitchko would end up with a KO. Klitchko is too big and skilled, plus Louis never had 1 punch KO power like Dempsey or Marciano. To beat Klitchko I would say a greater chance Marciano would KO Klitchko, as well as Dempsey.

I'm a big fan of Louis but Carnera is no Klitchko. Wlad is far from more skilled.

If you actually watch the fight its not a bad comparison. It's become a bit of a myth that Carnero was just an oath and a lot of that comes from his fight with Max Bear, with both guys getting tangled up and rolling around the ring, stylistically that was a bad matchup for Carnera.
Carnera actually improved after losing the title and spent time finely tuning the fundamentals. Carnera really started to develop a jab, which before he rarely used. He had a nice winning streak before the Louis fight. Now really watch Louis-Carnera, Carnera shows good boxing ability in that fight and at times reminds me of Wladimir.

Wladimir Klitschko, without a doubt. Absolutely no chance Louis even lands anything more then a couple of pawing slaps on Wlad's shoulders.
